Battery disposal
Information on the Battery Act, in particular on battery disposal
The so-called Battery Act, in short “BattG” - available for example at: https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/battg/BJNR158210009.html - applies in principle to all types of batteries, regardless of shape, size, mass, material composition or use, as well as to products in which batteries are installed and / or enclosed.
In connection with the sale, distribution and delivery of our products (energy storage solutions), we want to and must draw your attention to the following:
As the end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries after use. Disposal with household waste is prohibited.
You can return the batteries free of charge either to us, Energy Sales GmbH & Co. KG, Universitätspark 1/1, 73525 Schwäbisch Gmünd or at the designated collection points (e.g. in retail outlets or local authorities; battery collection boxes etc.).
In the event of a return - also free of charge - to our business address (see imprint) or other return, please contact us briefly in advance for better coordination.
Used batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the old appliance must be separated from the old appliance in a non-destructive manner before being handed in at a collection point.
You are responsible for deleting any personal data on the old appliances to be disposed of.
Our take-back obligation is generally limited to used batteries that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our range and to a quantity that end users usually dispose of.
Products with built-in waste batteries are not included, see § 9 para. 1 a.E. BattG. The products in question are labeled accordingly.
We will then return used portable batteries to an approved take-back system or - if industrial batteries are affected - recycle them in accordance with the legal requirements.
Finally, we would like to explain the meaning of the “waste garbage can symbol”, which is visibly and permanently affixed to the relevant products:
This symbol is used to mark batteries / accumulators containing harmful substances and expressly indicates that they must not be disposed of with household waste in any way, but rather must be disposed of properly and professionally.
Below the “waste garbage can symbol” you will find - if and insofar as contained in the respective product and exceeding the legal limits for labeling - a product-specific abbreviation for chemical substances, namely:
“Cd” for cadmium at more than 0.002 percent by mass;
“Hg” for mercury at more than 0.0005 percent by mass;
“Pb” for lead at more than 0.004 percent by mass.
The Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act and the End-of-Life Vehicles Ordinance remain unaffected by the above information.
